Disse materialer anvendes til fremstilling af emballage, bel\u00e6gninger og maling, lak, kl\u00e6bemidler, tandplejeprodukter og -udstyr, materialer til knoglereparation samt kontaktlinser. Der udvikles i \u00f8jeblikket nye anvendelsesomr\u00e5der inden for medicinsk billeddiagnostik og l\u00e6gemiddelafgivelse.  <\/p>\n<p>Arbejdere i polymerindustrien har den h\u00f8jeste risiko for at blive udsat for glycidylmethacrylat. Der kan forekomme h\u00f8j eksponering under opgaver som pr\u00f8veudtagning, vedligeholdelse, p\u00e5fyldning af beholdere, filtrering, testning og bortskaffelse af affald.<br \/>\nErhverv i forbindelse med praktiserende tandl\u00e6ger og tandl\u00e6ger, s\u00e5som tandl\u00e6ger, tandl\u00e6geassistenter, tandplejere og tandteknikere, kan blive udsat for glycidylmethacrylat. Arbejdspladser, der er involveret i fremstilling af medicinske og tandl\u00e6gelige instrumenter, kan ogs\u00e5 blive udsat for stoffet.  <\/p>\n<h2>Mere om stoffet<\/h2>\n<p>Glycidylmethacrylat er en farvel\u00f8s v\u00e6ske, der fremstilles kunstigt. Det anvendes hovedsageligt til fremstilling af plast (polymerer) og akrylharpikser. Disse materialer anvendes i tandplejeprodukter, materialer til knoglereparation, overfladebehandlinger og kontaktlinser. De kan ogs\u00e5 anvendes i materialer, der kommer i kontakt med f\u00f8devarer, f.eks. emballage. Der udvikles i \u00f8jeblikket nye anvendelser af disse polymerer til medicinsk billeddiagnostik og m\u00e5lrettet l\u00e6gemiddelafgivelse.<br \/>\nDer udarbejdes i \u00f8jeblikket en EU-d\u00e6kkende bindende gr\u00e6nsev\u00e6rdi for erhvervsm\u00e6ssig eksponering.    <\/p>\n<h2>Sundhedsrisici, der kan opst\u00e5<\/h2>\n<p>Uds\u00e6ttelse for glycidylmethacrylat sker via ind\u00e5nding, hudkontakt og indtagelse (kontakt mellem h\u00e6nder og mund).<br \/>\nDer foreligger kun begr\u00e6nsede oplysninger om, hvorvidt glycidylmethacrylat for\u00e5rsager kr\u00e6ft hos mennesker. Dyrefors\u00f8g viser, at langvarig eksponering for dette stof kan for\u00e5rsage kr\u00e6ft samt skadelige virkninger p\u00e5 forplantningsevnen og fertiliteten. Der er beskrevet hudsensibiliserende virkninger hos mennesker.  <\/p>\n<h2>Hvad du kan g\u00f8re<\/h2>\n<p>Den bedste m\u00e5de at mindske risikoen ved eksponering for glycidylmethacrylat p\u00e5 er at erstatte det med et sikrere stof eller at \u00e6ndre fremgangsm\u00e5den. Hvis dette ikke er muligt, skal der tr\u00e6ffes foranstaltninger for at mindske eksponeringen. <\/p>\n<p>Glycidylmethacrylat fremstilles normalt i et lukket system under n\u00f8je kontrollerede forhold, hvor der ikke er direkte kontakt med de personer, der arbejder med det; dette begr\u00e6nser ogs\u00e5 udledningen til luften og holder eksponeringen p\u00e5 et lavt niveau.<\/p>\n<p>Hold arbejdspladsen ren, og opbevar materialer p\u00e5 en sikker m\u00e5de.
