PAH&#8217;er er klassificeret som carcinogener i gruppe 1 af IARC, hvilket betyder, at de betragtes som en direkte \u00e5rsag til kr\u00e6ft. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mange PAH\u2019er er klassificeret som carcinogener i kategori 1A eller 1B i henhold til CLP-forordningen, hvilket betyder, at stofferne med sikkerhed for\u00e5rsager kr\u00e6ft eller kan for\u00e5rsage kr\u00e6ft hos mennesker. PAH\u2019er kan indtages, ind\u00e5ndes eller i visse tilf\u00e6lde tr\u00e6nge ind gennem huden. Langvarig eksponering kan for\u00e5rsage lunge- og hudkr\u00e6ft.  <\/p>\n<h2>Hvor risici opst\u00e5r<\/h2>\n<p>Arbejdere i brancher eller erhverv, der anvender eller fremstiller kul eller kulprodukter, er mest udsat for eksponering for PAH. Det drejer sig blandt andet om asfaltarbejdere, arbejdere i kulgasindustrien, fiskere (kulteer p\u00e5 fiskenet), arbejdere i grafitelektrodeindustrien, mekanikere (bil- og dieselmotorer), vejarbejdere (bel\u00e6gning) samt arbejdere i d\u00e6k- og gummiindustrien. Desuden er brandmandsarbejde, affaldsforbr\u00e6nding, r\u00f8gerier, madlavning, krematorier, skorstensfejning, tr\u00e6beskyttelse og jordrensning forbundet med utilsigtet dannelse af PAH&#8217;er.  <\/p>\n<h2>Mere om stoffet<\/h2>\n<p>PAH&#8217;er er en klasse af mange kemikalier, der forekommer naturligt i kul, r\u00e5olie og benzin. De dannes ogs\u00e5 gennem h\u00f8jtemperaturprocesser, der er resultatet af ufuldst\u00e6ndig forbr\u00e6nding eller pyrolyse af organiske materialer som kul, olie, gas, tr\u00e6, affald og tobak. PAH&#8217;er fra disse kilder kan binde sig til eller danne sm\u00e5 partikler i luften. Tilberedning ved h\u00f8j temperatur danner PAH&#8217;er i k\u00f8d og andre f\u00f8devarer. Cigaretr\u00f8g indeholder mange PAH&#8217;er.    <\/p>\n<h2>Farer, der kan opst\u00e5<\/h2>\n<p>PAH&#8217;er har lav akut toksicitet. Akutte virkninger, der tilskrives eksponering for PAH&#8217;er, skyldes sandsynligvis andre stoffer. Langvarig erhvervsm\u00e6ssig eksponering for PAH&#8217;er kan p\u00e5virke flere systemer i kroppen. Det kan p\u00e5virke \u00e5ndedr\u00e6tssystemet (nedsat lungefunktion, brystsmerter, irritation af luftvejene og lungekr\u00e6ft), mave-tarmsystemet (herunder mave-tarmkr\u00e6ft), huden (forbr\u00e6ndinger og vorter p\u00e5 soleksponerede omr\u00e5der, der kan udvikle sig til kr\u00e6ft) og \u00f8jnene (\u00f8jenirritation). Det kan ogs\u00e5 v\u00e6re \u00e5rsag til andre former for kr\u00e6ft som leuk\u00e6mi, lever- og bl\u00e6rekr\u00e6ft.    <\/p>\n<p><strong>Latenstiden mellem eksponering og PAH-relateret kr\u00e6ft varierer fra 5 til 20 \u00e5r, afh\u00e6ngigt af de forskellige kr\u00e6fttyper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Hvad du kan g\u00f8re<\/h2>\n<p>Den bedste l\u00f8sning er at kontrollere eksponeringen ved eliminering eller substitution. Men da PAH&#8217;er stammer fra forbr\u00e6ndingsprocesser, er det ikke let at fjerne eller erstatte dette stof. R\u00f8gen b\u00f8r minimeres s\u00e5 t\u00e6t p\u00e5 kilden som muligt ved at oml\u00e6gge arbejdet og genoverveje de anvendte teknikker og materialer, f.eks. en udsuget svejsebr\u00e6nder. Hvis det ikke virker, skal emissionen kontrolleres i n\u00e6rheden af kilden, f.eks. ved hj\u00e6lp af lokale udsugningssystemer. Udf\u00f8r regelm\u00e6ssigt repr\u00e6sentative eksponeringsm\u00e5linger, s\u00e5 man ved, hvorn\u00e5r og hvor der skal tr\u00e6ffes yderligere risikoreducerende foranstaltninger.    <\/p>\n<p>S\u00f8rg for, at arbejderne l\u00f8bende er opm\u00e6rksomme p\u00e5 virkningerne af eksponering, og opfordr dem til at indberette tidlige symptomer. Personlig beskyttelse b\u00f8r kun anvendes som en sidste udvej, efter at de mulige tekniske l\u00f8sninger er udt\u00f8mt. Hvis det anvendes, skal man sikre sig, at det rigtige udstyr til personlig beskyttelse er til r\u00e5dighed.
