I en skofabrik i regionen La Rioja i Spanien blev der brugt to opl\u00f8sningsmidler til garvning af l\u00e6der til skofremstilling, og der blev foretaget en udskiftning, fordi flere arbejdere blev ramt af en r\u00e6kke helbredsproblemer, som omfattede opkast, svimmelhed og hovedpine.<\/p>\n

De mest alarmerende symptomer var epileptiske anfald, som to arbejdere fik efter 10 timers uafbrudt arbejde med opl\u00f8sningsmidler i en garvningsproces.<\/p>\n

De farlige produkter blev erstattet af et opl\u00f8sningsmiddel, hvor den eneste skadelige komponent er acetone.
