In einem Schuhproduktionsunternehmen in der Region La Rioja, Spanien, wurden zwei L\u00f6sungsmittel f\u00fcr die Gerbung von Leder f\u00fcr die Schuhherstellung verwendet. Die Substitution wurde durchgef\u00fchrt, weil mehrere Besch\u00e4ftigte von einer Reihe von Gesundheitsproblemen betroffen waren, darunter Erbrechen, Schwindel und Kopfschmerzen.<\/p>\n

Die alarmierendsten Symptome waren epileptische Anf\u00e4lle, die zwei Besch\u00e4ftigte nach 10 Stunden kontinuierlicher Arbeit mit L\u00f6sungsmitteln in einem Gerbereibetrieb erlitten.<\/p>\n

Die gef\u00e4hrlichen Produkte wurden durch ein L\u00f6sungsmittel ersetzt, dessen einziger sch\u00e4dlicher Bestandteil Aceton ist. Das Unternehmen beschloss au\u00dferdem, vorgegerbtes Leder zu bestellen, um die Verwendung von chemischen Produkten zu reduzieren.
