Biosidi\u00e4 arvioitiin kuuden parametrin perusteella: antiseptinen alue, vesi-\/rasvaliukoisuuskerroin, pH-alue, stabiilisuus\/reaktiivisuus, myrkyllisyys ja syttyvyys.Biosidi\u00e4, joka ei ole n\u00e4iden parametrien alueella, ei pidetty sopivana vaihtoehtona. Aineet arvioitiin ensin teknisten parametrien perusteella. Aineet, jotka l\u00e4p\u00e4isiv\u00e4t n\u00e4m\u00e4 vaatimukset, arvioitiin turvallisuusparametrien perusteella. Kaksikymment\u00e4kaksi ainetta tarkasteltiin t\u00e4m\u00e4n prosessin mukaisesti.    <\/p>\n<p>Tutkimuksessa todettiin, ett\u00e4 useimpia elintarvikkeissa, kosmetiikka- ja l\u00e4\u00e4ketuotteissa k\u00e4ytett\u00e4vi\u00e4 biosidej\u00e4 ei pidet\u00e4 sopivina biologisten n\u00e4ytteiden s\u00e4ilytt\u00e4miseen. DMDM-hydantoiini l\u00e4p\u00e4isee kaikki kuusi parametria, mutta DMDM-hydantoiinia ei ole koskaan k\u00e4ytetty t\u00e4h\u00e4n tarkoitukseen, joten sen pitk\u00e4aikaisvaikutusta n\u00e4ytteiden koskemattomuuteen ei tunneta.
