Toutefois, l\u2019utilisation du Dichlorom\u00e9thane a depuis \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9rablement restreinte (r\u00e8glement REACH, directive sur l\u2019eau potable). <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Il n&rsquo;existe pas d&rsquo;estimations actuelles concernant l&rsquo;exposition professionnelle au Dichlorom\u00e9thane dans l&rsquo;UE. Les principales voies d&rsquo;exposition sur le lieu de travail sont les voies respiratoires et la peau. Le Dichlorom\u00e9thane est class\u00e9, conform\u00e9ment au r\u00e8glement CLP, comme substance canc\u00e9rog\u00e8ne de cat\u00e9gorie 2. Le CIRC classe cette substance parmi les substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes du groupe 2A (probablement canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes pour l\u2019homme). Le Dichlorom\u00e9thane est soup\u00e7onn\u00e9 d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e0 l\u2019origine de cancers du pancr\u00e9as, du poumon et du foie.    <\/p>\n<h2>O\u00f9 se situent les risques ?<\/h2>\n<p>Le dichlorom\u00e9thane est principalement utilis\u00e9 comme d\u00e9capant pour peinture, d\u00e9graissant, propulseur, r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant et solvant d&rsquo;extraction. Il est tr\u00e8s volatil, dissout de nombreuses substances organiques et est donc \u00e9galement utilis\u00e9 comme solvant pour les r\u00e9sines, les graisses, les plastiques et le bitume. Il sert \u00e9galement d&rsquo;adh\u00e9sif pour des applications sp\u00e9ciales (verre acrylique, polystyr\u00e8ne).  <\/p>\n<p>Le Dichlorom\u00e9thane est tr\u00e8s volatil, ce qui signifie que, lorsqu\u2019il est utilis\u00e9 sur une grande surface, des concentrations \u00e9lev\u00e9es peuvent rapidement s\u2019accumuler dans l\u2019air et \u00eatre inhal\u00e9es. Lors de telles applications \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, comme le d\u00e9graissage ou le collage de surfaces (en plastique), des concentrations \u00e9lev\u00e9es de Dichlorom\u00e9thane peuvent encore \u00eatre pr\u00e9sentes dans l\u2019air que vous respirez. Des expositions de forte intensit\u00e9 sont possibles pour les travailleurs qui utilisent des d\u00e9capants pour peinture (secteur de la construction, r\u00e9novation) et lors de t\u00e2ches telles que le nettoyage de cuves, le d\u00e9graissage ou l\u2019entretien en espace confin\u00e9. Des expositions d\u2019intensit\u00e9 moyenne sont courantes dans la fabrication de produits chimiques, la production pharmaceutique et la formulation de solvants, tandis que des expositions de faible intensit\u00e9 peuvent \u00eatre observ\u00e9es dans les laboratoires d\u2019analyse, de recherche et de sant\u00e9, pour le personnel de laboratoire et dans l\u2019industrie pharmaceutique (agents d\u2019extraction), ainsi que lors de traitements de surfaces en plastique \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019agents d\u00e9graissants et d\u2019adh\u00e9sifs.   <\/p>\n<h2>En savoir plus sur la substance<\/h2>\n<p>Le dichlorom\u00e9thane est un hydrocarbure aliphatique satur\u00e9 halog\u00e9n\u00e9 qui, \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat pur, se pr\u00e9sente sous la forme d&rsquo;un liquide incolore d\u00e9gageant une odeur semblable \u00e0 celle du chloroforme. Il pr\u00e9sente un point d&rsquo;\u00e9bullition bas de 40 \u00b0C et une pression de vapeur de 470 hPa (\u00e0 20 \u00b0C) ; il est tr\u00e8s volatil. Lors de l\u2019utilisation de produits contenant du Dichlorom\u00e9thane, environ 85 % de la substance est rejet\u00e9e dans l\u2019environnement. Dans des conditions normales d\u2019utilisation, le Dichlorom\u00e9thane n\u2019est pas inflammable ; toutefois, il peut pr\u00e9senter un risque d\u2019explosion dans des r\u00e9cipients ferm\u00e9s.   <\/p>\n<p>En raison des restrictions d&rsquo;utilisation pr\u00e9vues par le r\u00e8glement REACH, les d\u00e9capants pour peinture contenant plus de 0,1 % en poids de Dichlorom\u00e9thane ne peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s \u00e0 des fins professionnelles que par du personnel ayant suivi une formation sp\u00e9cifique. La combustion du Dichlorom\u00e9thane peut produire du phosg\u00e8ne gazeux, une substance hautement toxique. <\/p>\n<h2>Dangers pouvant survenir<\/h2>\n<p>Si la substance est absorb\u00e9e sous forme liquide, par exemple par la peau, elle affecte principalement le syst\u00e8me nerveux central et provoque des sympt\u00f4mes tels que des maux de t\u00eate, des vertiges, des naus\u00e9es, des engourdissements et des troubles de la concentration. Dans l&rsquo;organisme, le Dichlorom\u00e9thane est transform\u00e9 en monoxyde de carbone, provoquant ainsi une intoxication au monoxyde de carbone. Une irritation des voies respiratoires et des yeux, une perte d&rsquo;app\u00e9tit, des troubles de la concentration et de la fatigue peuvent \u00e9galement survenir.  <\/p>\n<p>Un contact cutan\u00e9 prolong\u00e9 entra\u00eene la d\u00e9gradation des tissus adipeux, provoquant ainsi des \u00e9ruptions cutan\u00e9es et des d\u00e9mangeaisons. Les vapeurs de Dichlorom\u00e9thane sont plus lourdes que l&rsquo;air et s&rsquo;accumulent donc pr\u00e8s du sol. L&rsquo;inhalation de ces vapeurs peut causer des l\u00e9sions au niveau du nerf optique et du foie (h\u00e9patite).  <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;effet le plus significatif d&rsquo;une exposition \u00e0 long terme est la canc\u00e9rog\u00e9nicit\u00e9. Le Dichlorom\u00e9thane est soup\u00e7onn\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00eatre \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine de cancers du pancr\u00e9as, du poumon et du foie. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Les d\u00e9lais de latence avant l&rsquo;apparition d&rsquo;un cancer suite \u00e0 une exposition au Dichlorom\u00e9thane peuvent varier de 20 \u00e0 30 ans.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Ce que vous pouvez faire<\/h2>\n<p>Avant toute chose, vous devez v\u00e9rifier si les produits contenant du Dichlorom\u00e9thane peuvent \u00eatre remplac\u00e9s par des alternatives moins dangereuses ou non dangereuses. Il existe une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de produits de substitution, notamment pour une utilisation comme propulseur. Si aucun substitut n\u2019est disponible, des mesures de sant\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 appropri\u00e9es doivent \u00eatre mises en \u0153uvre, en particulier pour les applications \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, afin de prot\u00e9ger les travailleurs expos\u00e9s. Les vapeurs doivent \u00eatre capt\u00e9es et extraites \u00e0 la source ou pr\u00e8s du sol \u00e0 l\u2019aide de syst\u00e8mes d\u2019extraction. Le nombre de personnes expos\u00e9es et la dur\u00e9e d\u2019exposition doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9duits au minimum. Les travailleurs expos\u00e9s doivent recevoir r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des consignes, formul\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re compr\u00e9hensible, sur les risques li\u00e9s au Dichlorom\u00e9thane et sur la mise en \u0153uvre des mesures de protection. Une fois que toutes les mesures mentionn\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises en \u0153uvre, l\u2019absorption de Dichlorom\u00e9thane par l\u2019organisme peut \u00eatre encore r\u00e9duite gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation d\u2019\u00e9quipements de protection individuelle (EPI) et de v\u00eatements de travail adapt\u00e9s. Les EPI et les v\u00eatements de travail doivent pouvoir \u00eatre nettoy\u00e9s et entrepos\u00e9s dans des conditions d\u2019hygi\u00e8ne satisfaisantes.
