Un exemple bien connu est celui de l&rsquo;amiante, une substance responsable de milliers de victimes qui souffrent et meurent \u00e0 cause de l&rsquo;exposition aux particules d&rsquo;amiante. De nombreuses autres substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes sont moins connues, mais sachez que m\u00eame les produits naturels, comme la poussi\u00e8re de bois dur, peuvent provoquer des cancers. Assurez-vous de savoir avec quoi vous travaillez !   <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Types de substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes<\/h2>\n<h3>Les agents canc\u00e9rig\u00e8nes se manifestent sous diff\u00e9rentes formes :<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Apparence : Les agents canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes peuvent se trouver dans les produits utilis\u00e9s dans les entreprises, notamment les variantes chimiques comme certains pesticides et peintures industrielles. Mais ils peuvent aussi \u00eatre le r\u00e9sultat d&rsquo;un processus (canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par un processus) comme les \u00e9missions de diesel ou les fum\u00e9es de soudage. <\/li>\n<li>Certains canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes peuvent \u00eatre inhal\u00e9s et p\u00e9n\u00e9trer, par exemple, dans la circulation sanguine et les organes, y compris le cerveau. D&rsquo;autres peuvent p\u00e9n\u00e9trer par la peau. Une fois que les canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes ont p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;organisme, ils peuvent endommager l&rsquo;ADN des travailleurs ou modifier le mode de fonctionnement et de r\u00e9plication des cellules de l&rsquo;organisme. Cela peut entra\u00eener des cancers et d&rsquo;autres probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9.   <\/li>\n<li>Les produits naturels : M\u00eame les produits naturels peuvent provoquer un cancer en cas d&rsquo;exposition \u00e9lev\u00e9e et prolong\u00e9e, comme la poussi\u00e8re de bois dur, la silice et le quartz de certains types de pierre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Consultez les <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/search\/\">fiches d&rsquo;information<\/a> pour en savoir plus sur les diff\u00e9rentes substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n<h2>L\u00e9gislation sur les substances canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes<\/h2>\n<p>Pour prot\u00e9ger les travailleurs contre l&rsquo;exposition \u00e0 des agents canc\u00e9rig\u00e8nes <a href=\"https:\/\/osha.europa.eu\/nl\/legislation\/directive\/directive-200437ec-carcinogens-or-mutagens-work\">, l&rsquo;UE a \u00e9labor\u00e9 la directive sur les canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes, les mutag\u00e8nes ou les substances toxiques pour la reproduction<\/a>. Cette directive pr\u00e9voit les proc\u00e9dures suivantes : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Evaluation des risques :<\/strong> L&#8217;employeur doit v\u00e9rifier et g\u00e9rer le risque d&rsquo;exposition \u00e0 des substances canc\u00e9rig\u00e8nes, mutag\u00e8nes (modifiant les g\u00e8nes) ou reprotoxiques (nuisant \u00e0 la reproduction) (CMR). Ce contr\u00f4le doit \u00eatre effectu\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Mesures de pr\u00e9vention :<\/strong> Les travailleurs ne doivent pas \u00eatre expos\u00e9s au CMR. L&#8217;employeur doit utiliser des substances plus s\u00fbres si possible. Si l&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;un syst\u00e8me ferm\u00e9 n&rsquo;est pas possible, l&rsquo;exposition doit \u00eatre r\u00e9duite au minimum. L&rsquo;exposition ne doit pas d\u00e9passer la limite autoris\u00e9e d&rsquo;une substance canc\u00e9rig\u00e8ne (en savoir plus : principe STOP).   <\/li>\n<li><strong>Information et formation :<\/strong> L&#8217;employeur doit dispenser une formation ad\u00e9quate sur les risques pour la sant\u00e9, les moyens d&rsquo;\u00e9viter l&rsquo;exposition, les r\u00e8gles d&rsquo;hygi\u00e8ne, les \u00e9quipements de protection et les mesures \u00e0 prendre en cas d&rsquo;incident.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Surveillance de la sant\u00e9 :<\/strong> Si une valeur limite biologique (voir ci-dessous) est fix\u00e9e, des contr\u00f4les de sant\u00e9 sont n\u00e9cessaires. Les travailleurs doivent en \u00eatre inform\u00e9s avant de commencer la t\u00e2che \u00e0 risque. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Limites d&rsquo;exposition professionnelle<\/h2>\n<p>Les autorit\u00e9s r\u00e9glementaires aux niveaux europ\u00e9en et national fixent des limites \u00e0 l&rsquo;exposition aux substances dangereuses, telles que les canc\u00e9rog\u00e8nes. Ces limites d&rsquo;exposition professionnelle (LEP) sont des valeurs r\u00e9glementaires qui indiquent les niveaux d&rsquo;exposition consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme s\u00fbrs (sur le plan de la sant\u00e9) pour une substance chimique dans l&rsquo;air d&rsquo;un lieu de travail. Elles servent essentiellement de normes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour prot\u00e9ger la sant\u00e9 des travailleurs.
