IARC klasificira PAH-ove kao kancerogene tvari 1. skupine, \u0161to zna\u010di da se smatraju definitivnim uzro\u010dnikom raka. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mnogi PAH-ovi klasificirani su kao kancerogeni kategorije 1A ili 1B prema CLP uredbi, \u0161to zna\u010di da su tvari definitivno uzro\u010dnici raka ili mogu uzrokovati rak kod ljudi. PAH-ovi se mogu progutati, udahnuti ili u nekim slu\u010dajevima pro\u0107i kroz ko\u017eu. Dugotrajna izlo\u017eenost mo\u017ee uzrokovati rak plu\u0107a i ko\u017ee.  <\/p>\n<h2>Gdje se javljaju rizici<\/h2>\n<p>Radnici u industrijama ili obrtima koji koriste ili proizvode ugljen ili proizvode od ugljena imaju najve\u0107i rizik od izlo\u017eenosti PAH-ovima. Ti radnici uklju\u010duju radnike u asfaltnim radovima, radnike u plinskim instalacijama, ribare (katran na mre\u017eama), radnike s grafitnim elektrodama, mehani\u010dare (automobilske i dizelske motore), radnike na cestama (plo\u010dnike) te radnike u proizvodnji guma i gume. Tako\u0111er, ga\u0161enje po\u017eara, spaljivanje otpada, pu\u0161nice, kuhanje, krematoriji, \u010di\u0161\u0107enje dimnjaka, konzerviranje drva i sanacija tla povezani su s nenamjernim stvaranjem PAH-ova.  <\/p>\n<h2>Vi\u0161e o supstanci<\/h2>\n<p>PAH-ovi su klasa brojnih kemikalija koje se prirodno pojavljuju u ugljenu, sirovoj nafti i benzinu. Tako\u0111er nastaju procesima na visokim temperaturama koji su rezultat nepotpunog izgaranja ili pirolize organskih materijala poput ugljena, nafte, plina, drva, sme\u0107a i duhana. PAH-ovi koji nastaju iz ovih izvora mogu se vezati za male \u010destice u zraku ili ih stvarati. Kuhanje na visokim temperaturama stvorit \u0107e PAH-ove u mesu i drugoj hrani. Dim cigarete sadr\u017ei mnoge PAH-ove.    <\/p>\n<h2>Opasnosti koje se mogu pojaviti<\/h2>\n<p>PAH-ovi imaju nisku akutnu toksi\u010dnost. Akutni u\u010dinci koji se pripisuju izlo\u017eenosti PAH-ovima vjerojatno su uzrokovani drugim agensima. Dugotrajna profesionalna izlo\u017eenost PAH-ovima mo\u017ee utjecati na vi\u0161e sustava u tijelu. Mo\u017ee utjecati na di\u0161ni sustav (smanjenje funkcije plu\u0107a, bol u prsima, iritacija di\u0161nih putova i rak plu\u0107a), gastrointestinalni sustav (uklju\u010duju\u0107i rak gastrointestinalnog trakta), ko\u017eu (opekline i bradavice na podru\u010djima izlo\u017eenim suncu koje se mogu razviti u rak) i o\u010di (iritacija oka). Tako\u0111er mo\u017ee biti uzrok drugih vrsta raka poput leukemije, raka jetre i mjehura.    <\/p>\n<p><strong>Latencija izme\u0111u izlo\u017eenosti i raka povezanog s PAH-ovima varira od 5 do 20 godina, ovisno o razli\u010ditim vrstama raka.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>\u0160to mo\u017eete u\u010diniti<\/h2>\n<p>Najbolje rje\u0161enje je kontrolirati izlo\u017eenost uklanjanjem ili zamjenom. Me\u0111utim, budu\u0107i da PAH-ovi potje\u010du iz procesa izgaranja, nije lako ukloniti ili zamijeniti ovu tvar. Isparenja treba svesti na minimum \u0161to bli\u017ee izvoru redizajniranjem rada i ponovnim razmatranjem kori\u0161tenih tehnika i materijala, na primjer usisnim plamenikom za zavarivanje. Ako to ne uspije, emisiju treba kontrolirati u neposrednoj blizini izvora, na primjer kori\u0161tenjem lokalnih ispu\u0161nih ventilacijskih sustava. Povremeno provodite reprezentativna mjerenja izlo\u017eenosti kako biste znali kada i gdje treba poduzeti daljnje mjere za smanjenje rizika.    <\/p>\n<p>Radnike treba kontinuirano osvje\u0161tavati o u\u010dincima izlo\u017eenosti i poticati ih da prijavljuju rane simptome. Osobna za\u0161titna oprema treba se koristiti samo kao krajnja mjera, nakon \u0161to su iscrpljena sva mogu\u0107a tehni\u010dka rje\u0161enja. Ako se koristi, provjerite je li pri ruci odgovaraju\u0107a osobna za\u0161titna oprema.
