De gids behandelt de belangrijkste vragen: <\/p>\n<p>1. Op welke werkplekken en tijdens het uitvoeren van welke taken kunnen werknemers binnen het bedrijf te maken krijgen met blootstelling aan kwartsstof?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kwartsgehalte van bepaalde materialen;<\/li>\n<li>Sectoren die worden blootgesteld aan kwarts;<\/li>\n<li>Werkplekactiviteiten waarbij kwarts kan vrijkomen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Is er gekeken naar de aard, omvang en duur van de blootstelling aan kwarts?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geschikte methoden en strategie\u00ebn om blootstelling te controleren en of het nodig is om herhaalde metingen uit te voeren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Kan blootstelling aan kwarts worden voorkomen door vervanging?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Algemeen advies over hoe\/of kwarts kan worden vervangen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Zijn er collectieve of organisatorische maatregelen genomen om blootstelling aan kwartsstof te voorkomen of te beperken?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hoe een werkgever bepaalde maatregelen kan nemen om de blootstelling te verminderen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5. Wordt ademhalingsbescherming gebruikt om blootstelling aan kwartsstof te voorkomen of te beperken?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adviseren over de vraag of het nodig is dat een werkgever het extra gebruik van adembeschermingsmiddelen voorschrijft en diverse zaken die van belang zijn met betrekking tot adembescherming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6. Wordt er informatie en instructie gegeven over kwartsstof?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welke informatie en instructiedocumenten moeten bevatten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>7. Registratie<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Een lijst van de aanvullende registratievereisten die van toepassing zijn op kwartsstof<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8. Overige zaken: algemene gezondheid en veiligheid op het werk, orde en netheid, eten en drinken op de werkplek, arbeidsgezondheidskundig onderzoek<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aanvullende lijst met algemene maatregelen om de blootstelling aan kwartsstof te beperken<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Door de hele gids heen worden extra nuttige bronnen gedeeld, zoals de <a href=\"https:\/\/stofvrijwerken.tno.nl\/en\/\">website over stofvrij werken<\/a> (TNO).<\/p>\n<h2>Blootstelling aan kwarts<\/h2>\n<p>Kwartsstof is geclassificeerd als carcinogenen, met een wettelijke blootstellingslimiet in Nederland van 0,075 mg\/m3 (tijdgewogen gemiddelde over 8 uur). Het is opgenomen in de regelgeving voor de werkplek als gevaarlijke stof. Blootstelling aan kwartsstof kan voorkomen in verschillende bedrijfstakken, waaronder de bouw, waar veel materialen kwarts bevatten. Andere risicovolle werkplekken zijn metaalgieterijen, waar kwarts aanwezig is in vormzand, en in de glasproductie, waar het als grondstof wordt gebruikt.
