{"id":23383,"date":"2025-06-15T11:32:04","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T11:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/?post_type=good-practice&#038;p=23383"},"modified":"2025-06-03T14:34:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T14:34:15","slug":"tijd-om-de-lucht-te-klaren","status":"publish","type":"good-practice","link":"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/nl\/good-practice\/tijd-om-de-lucht-te-klaren\/","title":{"rendered":"Tijd om de lucht te klaren"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>De Health and Safety Executive (HSE) uit Groot-Brittanni\u00eb speelt de rol van nationale regelgever en katalysator als het gaat om het voorkomen van overlijden, letsel en slechte gezondheid op werkplekken in Groot-Brittanni\u00eb. Ze maken sectorplannen, gezondheidsprioriteitenplannen, voeren gezondheids- en veiligheidsinspectiebezoeken uit en geven informatie over een gezonde en veilige werkomgeving. Een van de gezonde prioriteitsplannen richt zich op beroepsmatige longaandoeningen. Dit is een belangrijk onderwerp omdat beroepsgebonden aandoeningen van de luchtwegen momenteel naar schatting leiden tot ongeveer 12.000 sterfgevallen per jaar in Groot-Brittanni\u00eb. Het kan voorkomen in de meeste industriesectoren en wordt veroorzaakt door een breed scala aan agentia, van biologische organismen tot stof, rook en dampen. Asbest en Respirabel kristallijn silica (RCS) dragen in het bijzonder substantieel bij aan de last van longziekten. De campagne \u201cTijd om de lucht te zuiveren\u201d richt zich op RCS voor iedereen die werkt in de publieke en private sector, in de aanleg van snelwegen, wegonderhoud, landschapsarchitectuur of algemene werkzaamheden op bouwterreinen<strong>.Instelling en probleem<\/strong>      <\/p>\n<p>Stof is niet alleen hinderlijk, maar ook een ernstig gezondheidsrisico. Het kan ademhalingsproblemen en longaandoeningen veroorzaken en is kankerverwekkend. De campagne richt zich vooral op werkgevers en werknemers die afkortzagen gebruiken bij het zagen van bakstenen en stoepranden. Daarbij kunnen enorme stofwolken ontstaan. In deze stofwolken komt RCS voor en dit veroorzaakt gevaar voor de persoon die zaagt en voor de mensen om hem heen.    <\/p>\n<p><strong>Oplossing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Naast het onder de aandacht brengen van het probleem van RCS bij het zagen van bakstenen en stoepranden, wil de HSE met de campagne ook het gebruik van een zaag met wateronderdrukking promoten. Bij het gebruik van een zaag met wateronderdrukking is de hoeveelheid stof minimaal. Dit voorkomt dat een werknemer en zijn omgeving RCS inademen.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Resultaat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De aandacht voor RCS en de mogelijke oplossing van het gebruik van een wateronderdrukzaag zal meer werkgevers en werknemers aanmoedigen om aandacht te besteden aan dit onderwerp. Op de lange termijn zal dit longaandoeningen op het werk voorkomen.
