{"id":24343,"date":"2017-11-20T15:55:30","date_gmt":"2017-11-20T15:55:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/good-practice\/vrij-ademen-britse-vereniging-voor-bedrijfshygiene\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T10:50:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T10:50:21","slug":"vrij-ademen-britse-vereniging-voor-bedrijfshygiene","status":"publish","type":"good-practice","link":"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/nl\/good-practice\/vrij-ademen-britse-vereniging-voor-bedrijfshygiene\/","title":{"rendered":"Vrij ademen - Britse Vereniging voor Bedrijfshygi\u00ebne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOHS is de British Occupational Hygiene Society, een organisatie die streeft naar een gezonde werkomgeving voor iedereen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. <em>Breathe Freely <\/em>is een initiatief van BOHS om het aantal beroepsgebonden longaandoeningen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk terug te dringen.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Instelling en probleem<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Beroepsmatige longaandoeningen veroorzaken een aanzienlijke slopende gezondheid en ongeveer 12.000 sterfgevallen per jaar alleen al in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Het wordt veroorzaakt door dieselrook, houtstof, lasrook en andere gevaarlijke stoffen. <em>Breathe Freely<\/em> is een campagne om mensen bewust te maken en informatie te geven over hoe het probleem van longaandoeningen op het werk kan worden aangepakt. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Oplossing<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Breathe Freely<\/em> heeft een reeks toolbox-gesprekken, checklists en een COSHH-gids (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) ontwikkeld.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>De toolbox talks vormen een beknopte samenvatting van de gezondheidsrisico&#8217;s die de bouw met zich meebrengt en hoe de <em>Breathe Freely-campagne<\/em> deze risico&#8217;s wil aanpakken. De toolbox talks zijn bedoeld om de verwachtingen ten aanzien van gezondheids- en veiligheidsnormen te versterken. <\/li>\n<li>De checklists zijn ontwikkeld om managers op locatie te helpen bij het beheren van gezondheidsrisico&#8217;s op de werkplek met betrekking tot COSHH, lood, asbest en silica. De checklists helpen managers bij het opsporen van zwakke punten en geven tips over zaken waar ze op moeten letten of die ze moeten regelen. <\/li>\n<li>De COSHH-gids biedt hulpmiddelen om managers te helpen bij het herkennen, evalueren en controleren van stappen voor het uitvoeren van een praktische COSHH-beoordeling op een bouwplaats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Resultaten<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>De <em>Breathe Freely-campagne<\/em> laat zien dat er verschillende gevaarlijke stoffen zijn die longaandoeningen veroorzaken.
