In het OLVG ziekenhuis in Amsterdam heeft een cytostaticarobot een groot deel van de bereiding van chemotherapie overgenomen van de farmaceutisch assistenten. De robot vermindert de kans op blootstelling aan gevaarlijke stoffen, vermindert de belasting van de handen en geeft de assistent meer tijd voor andere complexe bereidingen. <\/p>\n

Instelling en probleem<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Er doen zich risico’s voor wanneer farmaceutische assistenten chemotherapie klaarmaken voor pati\u00ebnten. Ze hebben bijvoorbeeld last van handproblemen en krijgen te maken met de gevaarlijke stoffen die in chemo zitten. <\/p>\n

Oplossing<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Het OLVG is het eerste ziekenhuis in de Benelux en een van de vijftig ziekenhuizen ter wereld dat werkt met een cytostaticarobot. De robot werkt gravimetrisch: het wegen van flacons, zakken en vloeistoffen gebeurt in een beveiligde balans. De flacons worden individueel ge\u00efdentificeerd met hoogtesensoren en fotoherkenning. Werken met een robot cre\u00ebert een veiligere werkplek voor farmaceutisch assistenten omdat er een volledige barri\u00e8re is tussen de assistent en de gevaarlijke stoffen. <\/p>\n

Resultaten<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Door het gebruik van de cytostaticarobot komen de assistenten bij het voorbereiden van chemotherapie niet in aanraking met gevaarlijke stoffen.
