Cytostatica en cytotoxische stoffen voorkomen de replicatie of groei van cellen, waardoor ze zowel nuttige medicijnen tegen kanker als uiterst giftig zijn. Om te bepalen welke collectieve en persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen genomen moeten worden bij het werken met deze stoffen, gebruikt CENEXI-Laboratoires Thissen een gevalideerde classificatiestrategie: de Control Strategy Selection Guide. <\/p>\n

Instelling en probleem<\/u><\/h2>\n

Cytostatica en cytotoxische stoffen worden vaak gebruikt als medicijnen tegen kanker, omdat ze de replicatie of groei van cellen voorkomen. Dit maakt ze ook extreem giftig voor gezonde mensen. Informatie over de bescherming van werknemers, die normaal gesproken te vinden is op het veiligheidsinformatieblad, is bij deze stoffen vaak niet beschikbaar. Daarom is het onduidelijk (hoe te bepalen) welke maatregelen genomen moeten worden om werknemers te beschermen tegen blootstelling bij het werken met deze stoffen. <\/p>\n

Oplossing<\/u><\/h2>\n

CENEXI-Laboratoires Thissen gebruikt nu de Control Strategy Selection Guide. Dit is een gevalideerd classificatiesysteem dat voor elk agens bepaalt welke collectieve en individuele beschermingsmaatregelen moeten worden genomen. Dit classificatiesysteem is gebaseerd op het blootstellingsniveau, dat wordt bepaald door de duur van de blootstelling, de stoffigheid van de stof en de hoeveelheid, en op de grenswaarden voor beroepsmatige blootstelling (OEL’s). Met dit systeem bepaalt het bedrijf systematisch welke beschermende maatregelen voor welke stoffen moeten worden genomen en wordt de blootstelling zo veel mogelijk beperkt. Ge\u00efnteresseerd?
