Als sorteerder in de afvalverwerking bestaat je taak uit het organiseren en categoriseren van verschillende materialen, en het is belangrijk dat je je bewust bent van mogelijke beroepsrisico’s, waaronder risico’s op kankerverwekkendheid. In je werk kun je worden blootgesteld aan stoffen die de kans op kanker kunnen vergroten. <\/p>\n

In de context van sorteren kunnen kankerverwekkende risico’s ontstaan door het hanteren van materialen die schadelijke stoffen bevatten zoals asbest, bepaalde chemicali\u00ebn en zware metalen die vaak in afvalstromen worden aangetroffen. Voortdurende blootstelling aan deze kankerverwekkende stoffen kan het risico op het ontwikkelen van kanker zoals longkanker, huidkanker en andere vormen van kanker van de luchtwegen of het maagdarmkanaal verhogen. <\/p>\n

Om deze risico’s te beperken, is het van cruciaal belang om veiligheidsmaatregelen te implementeren en de beste praktijken in afvalsortering na te leven. Dit omvat het dragen van de juiste persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (PPE) om direct contact met gevaarlijke materialen tot een minimum te beperken.
