Als juwelier of goudsmid bestaat je taak uit het bewerken van en werken met edelmetalen en edelstenen. Hoewel je je in de eerste plaats richt op het maken van ingewikkelde en waardevolle sieraden, is het belangrijk om je bewust te zijn van mogelijke beroepsrisico’s, waaronder die met betrekking tot kankerverwekkende risico’s. <\/p>\n

Een belangrijk punt van zorg is de mogelijke blootstelling aan materialen die worden gebruikt bij het maken van sieraden, zoals metalen en chemicali\u00ebn, die bestanddelen met mogelijk kankerverwekkende eigenschappen kunnen bevatten of afgeven tijdens het proces van het maken van sieraden. Langdurige blootstelling aan deze stoffen kan na verloop van tijd het risico op gezondheidsproblemen vergroten. Om dit risico te verkleinen, is het essentieel om goede ventilatie in te bouwen, de juiste persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (PPE) te gebruiken en veiligheidsprotocollen na te leven, zodat er zo min mogelijk direct contact is met mogelijk schadelijke materialen. <\/p>\n

Door prioriteit te geven aan veiligheidsmaatregelen, beschermende uitrusting te gebruiken en zich strikt te houden aan de richtlijnen van de sector, kunnen juweliers en goudsmeden de potenti\u00eble gezondheidsrisico’s van hun beroep aanzienlijk beperken.
