Als bouwopzichter in de sloopsector wordt u in uw functie blootgesteld aan mogelijke carcinogenen die waakzame voorzorgsmaatregelen vereisen om uw gezondheid te beschermen. De aard van je werk houdt in dat je toezicht houdt op bouwactiviteiten, waarbij je regelmatig in contact kunt komen met verschillende gevaarlijke stoffen waarvan bekend is dat ze het risico op kanker verhogen. Deze carcinogenen komen in verschillende vormen voor, inclusief maar niet beperkt tot asbest, kwartsstof, benzeen en vluchtige organische stoffen (VOC’s). <\/p>\n

In de bouw vormt asbest een grote bedreiging, omdat de vezels ervan bij verstoring in de lucht terecht kunnen komen en een inhalatierisico vormen. Silicastof, dat vaak vrijkomt bij werkzaamheden als snijden, slijpen of boren in beton en metselwerk, is een ander carcinogeen gevaar dat je kunt tegenkomen. Benzeen, een oplosmiddel dat aanwezig is in sommige bouwmaterialen, en VOC’s die vrijkomen uit verf en kleefstoffen dragen ook bij aan de mogelijke carcinogenen die in verband worden gebracht met je werk. <\/p>\n

Langdurige blootstelling aan deze stoffen kan leiden tot ernstige gevolgen voor de gezondheid, waaronder een verhoogd risico op het ontwikkelen van longkanker, mesothelioom en andere vormen van kanker die verband houden met de luchtwegen. Om deze risico’s te beperken, is het noodzakelijk om strenge veiligheidsmaatregelen te implementeren. Het implementeren van effectieve ventilatiesystemen in werkruimten kan helpen om de concentratie van verontreinigende stoffen in de lucht te verminderen. Zorg voor het gebruik van de juiste persoonlijke beschermingsmiddelen (PPE), zoals ademhalingsmaskers en handschoenen, om direct contact en inademing tot een minimum te beperken. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
