Als steenhouwer werk je met verschillende soorten steen om constructies en decoratieve elementen te maken. In steenmetselwerk is een belangrijk carcinogeen risico de blootstelling aan silicastof, dat vrijkomt tijdens het hakken, vormen en afwerken. Silicastof bevat kristallijn silica en langdurige inademing van deze stof wordt in verband gebracht met een verhoogd risico op longkanker, silicose en andere aandoeningen aan de luchtwegen. <\/p>\n
