Als textielingenieur draait je werk om het ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en produceren van textielmaterialen en -producten. Hoewel je beroep misschien niet direct blootstelling aan kankerverwekkende stoffen met zich meebrengt, is het belangrijk om je bewust te zijn van mogelijke beroepsrisico’s, waaronder risico’s die indirect verband houden met kankerverwekkende risico’s binnen de textielindustrie. <\/p>\n

Bij de productie van textiel kunnen kankerverwekkende risico’s ontstaan door het gebruik van bepaalde chemicali\u00ebn, kleurstoffen en appreteermiddelen die gevaarlijke stoffen kunnen bevatten. Sommige kleurstoffen en pigmenten kunnen bijvoorbeeld kankerverwekkende verbindingen bevatten, zoals aromatische aminen of zware metalen. Daarnaast kunnen bepaalde oplos- en appreteermiddelen die worden gebruikt bij textielbehandelingen ook gezondheidsrisico’s met zich meebrengen als er niet op de juiste manier mee wordt omgegaan. <\/p>\n

Om deze risico’s te beperken, moeten textielingenieurs prioriteit geven aan veiligheidsmaatregelen en goed op de hoogte zijn van de materialen en processen die bij de productie van textiel worden gebruikt. Dit houdt in dat je op de hoogte moet blijven van de mogelijke gevaren van verschillende soorten kleurstoffen, chemicali\u00ebn en appreteermiddelen en dat je waar mogelijk moet pleiten voor het gebruik van veiligere alternatieven. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
