Op 28 juni lanceerde de Europese Commissie officieel haar nieuwe strategische kader voor gezondheid en veiligheid op het werk. Het doel? Werknemers veilig en gezond houden in een snel veranderende wereld van werk. Ook een belangrijke stap voor de routekaart, want dit zal een extra stimulans zijn voor onze gezamenlijke inspanningen om de blootstelling van werknemers aan kankerverwekkende stoffen te verminderen. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Het strategisch kader richt zich op drie belangrijke doelstellingen voor de komende jaren:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Anticiperen op en omgaan met veranderingen in de nieuwe arbeidswereld<\/strong>
    \nOm te zorgen voor veilige en gezonde werkplekken tijdens de digitale, groene en demografische overgang zal de Commissie de richtlijn betreffende werkplekken en de richtlijn betreffende beeldschermapparatuur herzien en de beschermingsgrenzen voor asbest en lood bijwerken. Zij zal een initiatief op EU-niveau voorbereiden in verband met de geestelijke gezondheid op het werk, waarin nieuwe problemen in verband met de geestelijke gezondheid van werknemers worden beoordeeld en richtsnoeren voor actie worden voorgesteld. <\/li>\n
  2. Verbetering van de preventie van werkgerelateerde ziekten en ongevallen<\/strong>
    \nDit strategisch kader zal een ‘visie nul’-aanpak bevorderen om werkgerelateerde sterfgevallen in de EU uit te bannen. De Commissie zal ook de EU-regels inzake gevaarlijke chemische stoffen bijwerken om kanker, voortplantings- en ademhalingsziekten te bestrijden. <\/li>\n
  3. Verbetering van de paraatheid voor mogelijke toekomstige bedreigingen van de gezondheid<\/strong>
    \nDe Commissie zal lering trekken uit de huidige pandemie en in nauwe samenwerking met de actoren op het gebied van de volksgezondheid noodprocedures en richtsnoeren ontwikkelen voor de snelle inzet, uitvoering en monitoring van maatregelen bij mogelijke toekomstige gezondheidscrises.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
