I kroppen omdannes akrylamid til en forbindelse som kalles glycidamid, som for\u00e5rsaker mutasjoner og skader p\u00e5 DNA. De h\u00f8ye niv\u00e5ene av akrylamideksponering i arbeidslivet kan ogs\u00e5 for\u00e5rsake nevrologiske skader. Studier av yrkeseksponering er imidlertid forel\u00f8pig begrensede og lite entydige.   <\/p>\n<h2>Hvor risiko oppst\u00e5r<\/h2>\n<p>Arbeidere i papir- og papirmasseindustrien, bygg- og anleggsbransjen, st\u00f8perier, oljeboring, tekstilindustrien, kosmetikkindustrien, n\u00e6ringsmiddelindustrien, plastindustrien, gruveindustrien og landbruksindustrien er potensielt eksponert for akrylamid.<\/p>\n<h2>Mer om stoffet<\/h2>\n<p>Akrylamid er et umettet amid som foreligger som et hvitt, luktfritt krystallinsk fast stoff ved romtemperatur.
