I kroppen omdannes Akrylamid til en forbindelse kalt glycidamid, som for\u00e5rsaker mutasjoner og skader p\u00e5 DNA. H\u00f8ye niv\u00e5er av yrkesmessig eksponering for Akrylamid kan ogs\u00e5 for\u00e5rsake nevrologiske skader. Studier av yrkesmessig eksponering er imidlertid forel\u00f8pig begrenset og gir ikke entydige resultater.   <\/p>\n<h2>Hvor risiko oppst\u00e5r<\/h2>\n<p>Arbeidere innen papir- og masseindustrien, bygge- og anleggsvirksomhet, st\u00f8pere, oljeboring, tekstilindustrien, kosmetikkindustrien, n\u00e6ringsmiddelindustrien, plastindustrien, gruveindustrien og jordbruket er potensielt utsatt for Akrylamid.<\/p>\n<h2>Mer om stoffet<\/h2>\n<p>Akrylamid er et umettet amid som foreligger som et hvitt, luktfritt, krystallinsk fast stoff ved romtemperatur. Langvarig eksponering for Akrylamid over flere \u00e5r kan for\u00e5rsake flere typer kreft gjennom skadet DNA. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Latensperioden mellom eksponering og Akrylamid-relatert kreft varierer fra 4 til 16 \u00e5r.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Hva du kan gj\u00f8re<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Gj\u00f8r kontinuerlig n\u00f8yaktige eksponeringsm\u00e5linger, slik at man vet n\u00e5r det er n\u00f8dvendig \u00e5 iverksette tiltak.<\/li>\n<li>Unders\u00f8k om arbeidstakerne melder fra om tidlige symptomer.
