Hlavn\u00fdm sp\u00f4sobom expoz\u00edcie kobaltu pri pr\u00e1ci je vd\u00fdchnutie \u010dast\u00edc kobaltu. Expoz\u00edcia kobaltu sa sp\u00e1ja so zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00fdm rizikom ochoren\u00ed p\u013e\u00fac a srdca. Kovov\u00fd kobalt a nieko\u013eko zl\u00fa\u010den\u00edn maj\u00fa harmonizovan\u00fa klasifik\u00e1ciu pod\u013ea nariadenia CLP (Klasifik\u00e1cia, ozna\u010dovanie a balenie) ako karcinog\u00e9nnu kateg\u00f3riu 1B, \u010do znamen\u00e1, \u017ee pravdepodobne sp\u00f4sobuj\u00fa rakovinu u \u013eud\u00ed. Pri v\u00fdrobe a pou\u017e\u00edvan\u00ed tvrdokovov\u00fdch a diamantov\u00fdch rezn\u00fdch n\u00e1strojov sa kobalt uplat\u0148uje ako spojovac\u00ed materi\u00e1l. Existuj\u00fa r\u00f4zne soli kobaltu s r\u00f4znou rozpustnos\u0165ou, ktor\u00e9 maj\u00fa priemyseln\u00fd v\u00fdznam, napr. s\u00edran kobaltnat\u00fd, dinitr\u00e1t kobaltu, uhli\u010ditan kobaltnat\u00fd alebo diacet\u00e1t kobaltu. Okrem toho kobalt zvy\u0161uje odolnos\u0165 proti opotrebovaniu, tvrdos\u0165 a mechanick\u00fa pevnos\u0165, napr. v rezn\u00fdch n\u00e1strojoch. Pou\u017e\u00edva sa ako spojivo pri v\u00fdrobe tvrdokovov spolu s karbidom volfr\u00e1mu. Katalyz\u00e1tory obsahuj\u00face kobalt s\u00fa potrebn\u00e9 na v\u00fdrobu \u010dist\u00fdch pal\u00edv s n\u00edzkym obsahom s\u00edry. V ochrane proti kor\u00f3zii sa kobalt vyu\u017e\u00edva pre materi\u00e1ly v teplom alebo hor\u00facom prostred\u00ed, napr. v priestoroch motorov, v brzd\u00e1ch a elektrick\u00fdch s\u00fa\u010diastkach v krytoch.       <\/p>\n<h2>Nebezpe\u010denstv\u00e1, ktor\u00e9 sa m\u00f4\u017eu vyskytn\u00fa\u0165<\/h2>\n<p>Najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161\u00ed potenci\u00e1l profesion\u00e1lnej expoz\u00edcie kobaltu a zl\u00fa\u010denin kobaltu je vd\u00fdchnut\u00edm \u010dast\u00edc pren\u00e1\u0161an\u00fdch vzduchom. Existuje aj riziko derm\u00e1lnej alebo or\u00e1lnej expoz\u00edcie kobaltu prostredn\u00edctvom kontaktu r\u00fak s \u00fastami. Expoz\u00edcia vysok\u00fdmi koncentr\u00e1ciami vzdu\u0161n\u00fdch \u010dast\u00edc kobaltu pri v\u00fdrobe tvrd\u00fdch kovov alebo le\u0161ten\u00ed diamantov m\u00f4\u017ee vies\u0165 k ak\u00fatnym respira\u010dn\u00fdm probl\u00e9mom a dokonca k pneumonit\u00edde (choroba kobaltov\u00fdch p\u013e\u00fac alebo choroba tvrd\u00fdch kovov). Kobalt sa m\u00f4\u017ee absorbova\u0165 do krvn\u00e9ho obehu bu\u010f cez p\u013e\u00faca, alebo cez gastrointestin\u00e1lny trakt. Dlhodob\u00e9 \u00fa\u010dinky dlhodob\u00e9ho, nepretr\u017eit\u00e9ho vystavenia kobaltu m\u00f4\u017eu zah\u0155\u0148a\u0165 senzibiliz\u00e1ciu ko\u017ee a p\u013e\u00fac, zhor\u0161enie funkcie p\u013e\u00fac, profesion\u00e1lnu astmu, p\u013e\u00facnu fibr\u00f3zu, zlyhanie srdca a rakovinu p\u013e\u00fac.    <\/p>\n<h2>\u010co m\u00f4\u017eete urobi\u0165<\/h2>\n<p>Naj\u00fa\u010dinnej\u0161\u00edm sp\u00f4sobom, ako zabr\u00e1ni\u0165 expoz\u00edcii, je nahradenie bezpe\u010dnej\u0161\u00edmi alternat\u00edvami bez kobaltu. Ak to nie je mo\u017en\u00e9, mali by sa zavies\u0165 technick\u00e9 opatrenia, ako je \u00fa\u010dinn\u00e9 miestne ods\u00e1vanie, dobr\u00e9 vetranie pracoviska, aby sa zabezpe\u010dilo, \u017ee expoz\u00edcia sa minimalizuje v \u010do najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161ej technickej miere.
