Ker PGC obi\u010dajno niso ozna\u010deni in niso navedeni v varnostnih listih, jim je treba v praksi varnosti in zdravja pri delu nameniti posebno pozornost, saj je milijoni zaposlenih v Evropi dnevno izpostavljenih PGC. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Eden od procesov, pri katerem se spro\u0161\u010dajo PGC, je zgorevanje. Zgorevanje je reakcija med gorivom in oksidantom, pri kateri se spro\u0161\u010da toplota. Med zgorevanjem iz goriva in oksidanta nastanejo nove kemi\u010dne snovi, pri \u010demer nastajajo izpu\u0161ni plini. V delovnih okoljih se pri zgorevanju spro\u0161\u010dajo rakotvorne (in druge nevarne) snovi, ki predstavljajo nevarnost za zaposlene. Primera delovnih situacij, v katerih prihaja do izpostavljenosti rakotvornim snovem zaradi izgorevanja, sta varjenje (<a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/welding-fumes\/\">hlapi, ki nastanejo pri varjenju) ali vdihavanje<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/diesel-engine-exhaust\/\">izpu\u0161nih plinov dizelskih motorjev .<\/a>    <\/p>\n<h2>Katere dejavnosti povzro\u010dajo emisije?<\/h2>\n<p>Hlapi nastanejo, ko se kovina ali drug material segreva in njegovi hlapi kondenzirajo v zelo drobne delce v zraku. Ti hlapi se lahko spro\u0161\u010dajo pri varjenju, taljenju, segrevanju, gorenju, spajkanju in strjevanju materiala. Delujo\u010di motor oddaja ogljikove spojine in \u0161tevilne druge kemi\u010dne spojine, ki vsebujejo rakotvorne snovi, kljub temu pa lahko pride do izpostavljenosti tudi pri ugasnjenem motorju v prostorih brez prezra\u010devanja ali s slabim prezra\u010devanjem.  <\/p>\n<h2>Kje se pojavljajo tveganja<\/h2>\n<p>Zgorevalni procesi potekajo v razli\u010dnih industrijskih panogah, kot so predelava kovin, gradbeni\u0161tvo, ladjedelni\u0161tvo in transportna industrija. Izpu\u0161nim plinom iz motorjev so izpostavljeni delavci, kot so mehaniki v avtobusnih gara\u017eah in na terminalih za tovornjake, vozniki tovornjakov, gasilci, gradbeni delavci, upravljavci vili\u010darjev, zaposleni, ki delajo s stalnimi viri energije, kot so kompresorji, generatorji, delavci, ki nakladajo in razkladajo ladje ali letala, zaposleni, ki delajo z nafto in plinom, ter delavci na cestninskih postajah. <\/p>\n<h2>Koliko zaposlenih je izpostavljenih?<\/h2>\n<p>Ocenjuje se, da je 3,6 milijona zaposlenih v Evropi izpostavljenih izpu\u0161nim plinom dizelskih motorjev. Poleg tega je na milijone zaposlenih v EU izpostavljenih dimom, ki vsebujejo rakotvorne snovi, kot so svinec, <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/lead-compounds\/\">berilij<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/beryllium-compounds\/\">, kadmij<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/cadmium-compounds\/\">nikelj.<\/a> Do izpostavljenosti <a href=\"https:\/\/stopcarcinogensatwork.eu\/fact\/chromium-vi-compounds\/\">kromu VI prihaja<\/a> pri varjenju nerjavnega jekla, ne\u017eeleznih zlitin, kromatnih premazov in nekaterih varilnih pripomo\u010dkov. Po ocenah je v EU kromu VI izpostavljenih 900 000 zaposlenih. Varjenje (kovinskih) premazov in ostankov, kot so kadmijeva prevleka in plasti\u010dni premazi, lahko prav tako povzro\u010di izpu\u0161\u010danje strupenih hlapov.    <\/p>\n<h2>Dejavniki, ki vplivajo na izpostavljenost<\/h2>\n<p>Dejavniki, ki vplivajo na izpostavljenost zaposlenih dimom iz zgorevanja, so vrsta postopka, sestava materiala, ki se zgoreva, okolje delovnega mesta (odprto obmo\u010dje ali zaprt prostor), vrsta nadzora prezra\u010devanja (mehanski ali lokalni) in delovne prakse.<\/p>\n<h2>U\u010dinki na zdravje<\/h2>\n<p>Vir materiala, ki se zgoreva, dolo\u010da vrsto dima in s tem u\u010dinek na zdravje. Snovi, ki pove\u010dujejo tveganje za nastanek raka, so krom (plju\u010da); ve\u010dje tveganje za nastanek raka sumijo pri niklju (plju\u010da, nos), kadmiju (plju\u010da, ledvica, prostata), svincu (plju\u010da, \u017eelodec in se\u010dni mehur), beriliju (plju\u010da). Tako kot za vsako drugo kemi\u010dno snov je treba tudi za izpostavljenost zaposlenih dimom iz zgorevanja (npr. emisijam dizelskega goriva ali hlapom, ki nastanejo pri varjenju) izvesti oceno tveganja. Postavite si na primer naslednja vpra\u0161anja: Ali se hlapi spro\u0161\u010dajo v zaprte delovne prostore? Ali so sprejeti ukrepi za zmanj\u0161anje izpostavljenosti?
