V nekaterih panogah, na primer v avtomobilski industriji, se \u0161e vedno uporabljajo nevarne in\/ali rakotvorne snovi. Na sre\u010do je avtomobilska industrija v zadnjem desetletju vse bolj dokazovala mo\u010dno zavezanost dru\u017ebeni odgovornosti podjetij. Podro\u010dje zanimanja so bili predvsem sistemi za razma\u0161\u010devanje barve. Ti sistemi se uporabljajo pri vzdr\u017eevanju avtomobilskih lakirnih kabin za plavanje ali potapljanje ostankov barve, da bi olaj\u0161ali \u010di\u0161\u010denje in odstranjevanje odpadkov. Ti sistemi so bili zanimivo podro\u010dje, ker se je za obdelavo uporabljal melaminformaldehid. Med okoljsko ozave\u0161\u010denimi proizvajalci je nara\u0161\u010dala zaskrbljenost zaradi morebitnega vpliva formaldehida na okolje, pa tudi med organizacijami za zdravje pri delu zaradi dejstva, da je formaldehid rakotvorna snov.      <\/p>\n<h2><u>Re\u0161itev<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>Ecolab velja za vodilno podjetje na podro\u010dju vodnih, higienskih in energetskih tehnologij in storitev. Ecolab je z obse\u017enimi raziskavami in strogimi terenskimi preizkusi razvil tako imenovano &#8220;tehnologijo razma\u0161\u010devanja barv APEX&#8221;. Ta kemija ne uporablja formaldehida in je v celoti izdelana iz obnovljivih virov. To pomeni, da ne vsebuje nevarnih ali rakotvornih snovi in je popolnoma biorazgradljiva.   <\/p>\n<h2><u>Rezultati<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>Program APEX pomaga zmanj\u0161ati porabo kemikalij, trdnih odpadkov, vode in skupne stro\u0161ke poslovanja, hkrati pa zagotavlja vrhunsko zmogljivost. Zato je leta 2012 prejel priznanje za vrhunske inovacije, tehnolo\u0161ki napredek in poslovno uspe\u0161nost v okviru nagrade PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers Contribution to Excellence) \u010dasopisa Automotive News. Tehnologija APEX je bila uspe\u0161no uporabljena v sistemih lakirnih kabin, ki uporabljajo vse vrste barv (poliuretane, brezbarvne premaze 2K, temeljne premaze z visoko trdnostjo, osnovne premaze s topilom z visoko trdnostjo in osnovne premaze z vodo z visoko trdnostjo).
