The IAPRL of Asturias (SPAIN) has published a detailed study of CMR in the format of chemical risk maps of six sectors:
- Chemical and steel manufacturing
- Healthcare
- Cleaning services
- Hairdressing and beauty care
- Graphics
- Construction
The Methods
This study consisted of collecting data through questionnaires and safety data sheets (SDS), technical data sheets or labels of the different products used in 783 companies. The study evaluated more than 26,000 products from the different sectors that meet the criteria for classification as category 1 carcinogens and/or mutagens.
The Result
The information of each chemical risk map is available here (in Spanish).
You can also find the document ‘Carcinogenic and mutagenic chemical agents at work: Results of the Chemical Risk Map in Asturias in different sectors of activity’, available here (in Spanish).
Using the data obtained from the chemical risk map of the hairdressing and other beauty care sector they have developed a tool to identify hazardous chemical agents in cosmetic products, RQ MAPP (available at: https://riesgoquimicopeluqueria.es/).
The tool provides information to identify and determine whether ingredients present in cosmetics are classified as hazardous.
