Let’s work together to make workplaces safer – through knowledge, practice and education
Each year, tens of thousands of people across Europe die from diseases caused by their work. In many cases, cancer is to blame — caused by exposure to carcinogenic substances on the job. These risks are often invisible, but they are not inevitable. To change that, we need each other.
Besides employers and workers, we invite a wider network of professionals to join us: labour inspectorates, educational institutions, trainers, researchers, unions, and expert organisations. By working together, we make knowledge visible, develop new tools, and learn from each other’s practices.
For Inspectorates
Labour inspectorates hold a wealth of real-world experience. By sharing inspection cases, we can help other inspectors learn from practice, and help companies understand what works and what doesn’t. We invite labour inspectorates to:
- Share inspection case studies that demonstrate risk assessment and control measures
- Support mutual learning among inspectorates in Europe
- Help businesses gain insight into the inspection process

For Research & Knowledge Institutions
Research, technical expertise and evidence-based practice are essential in reducing occupational exposure to carcinogens. We invite institutions to:
- Share good practices: real-life examples of successful substitution or control
- Develop or refine Control Guidance Sheets (CGS): step-by-step guidance for managing exposure
- Support awareness and policy with scientific insight, data and educational tools
Together, we build a shared knowledge base that others can use to improve their own strategies. Request an account via our registration page.
For Educational Institutions and Trainers
From vocational training to universities: today’s students are tomorrow’s workforce. Early education about carcinogens helps create long-term awareness and healthier choices. We invite educators and trainers to:
- Share lesson materials or awareness projects for use in schools, colleges or training centres
- Co-create educational content adapted to different age groups and sectors
- Inspire students to recognise and reduce risks in future workplaces
